H50: Aloha Earth Panel (Friday, July 23 @ 10:15am, Room 6BCF)

Fans who attend the H50 panel session will not only get to interact with series stars Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, they will also have a chance to take home:

Conventioneers should also be on the lookout for the HAWAII FIVE-0 Hula Girls.  The girls will say “aloha” to Comic-Con fans while modeling the limited-run t-Shirts and giving out ringtone cards featuring the show’s iconic theme song.

HawaiiFive0 kicked off production in Honolulu today with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host culture!

Another great episode IMO. I liked the story and the acting was excellent. Many times I forgot I was watching Alex and thought instead about how I was watching a doctor.

In this episode we see the return of Dr. Andy’s creepy Uncle Mike. He comes to Andy’s office with a stab wound and initially it appears that he wants Andy to patch him up without reporting it to the authorities which is against the law. Andy is saved from this sticky scenario by the arrival of his wife Rena, who is a cop. She knew of the stabbing and figured Uncle Mike would go to Andy for help.

In the meantime two firefighters and a fire victim arrive at Three Rivers. The fire captain needs new lungs if he is to survive but Dr. Andy cannot get him listed with UNOS because of his injuries. He asks the man’s team of firefighters if they will submit to tests to see if they are a match and can donate a portion of their lungs to the captain. 4 of the firefighters are found to be matches. A female firefighter named Gwen is put in a tough position when she comes back as a match. She does not want to donate part of her organ to the man that allowed her would be rapist and fellow firefighter to get away with his crime. She is swayed though to donate to protect her injured co-worker from having to make that sacrifice.

A young man who was burned in the fire presents several health problems that mystify them but eventually they figure out that an underlying auto immune disorder is at work.

Dr. Andy and Dr. Reed agree to a drink date later on so they can talk about what happened between them. Rena interrupts them though with the news that Uncle Mike killed a man and that the police want Andy’s assistance to put him away or they will put a hold on the money Uncle Mike donated to Kuol. Andy is conflicted about what to do and he is conflicted further as Rena takes his hand and tells him to go and enjoy his date. The look he gives Rena when she takes  makes it all to obvious that he still loves his wife. Alas the love triangle is getting interesting and we have few episodes in the series left. :0(

According to reigning Hollywood queen of “In the know-dom”, Nikki Finke… Alex has left ICM for UTA.

Not in the biz and without a clue to the identity of UTA, I went surfing for information.

At the United Talent Agency website I didn’t learn who they represent.  I wanted to know what company Alex would be keeping. However, I caught a wave to Wikipedia where I learned more. Some of the prestigious names represented by the approximately 100 agents at UTA are; Alex, and Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Owen Wilson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, Kirsten Dunst, Seth Rogen, James McAvoy, Rachel McAdams, Tim Daly, and Paul Rudd.

UTA represents Jennifer Lopez and Alex recently co-starred with Jennifer. Coincidence?  Something tells me Jennifer spoke highly of UTA

Who will comprise “Team Alex” at UTA?  Will former ICM agent, Chris Hart, be on his team there too?

Nikki says about Chris Hart:

There were some snarky comments left at the above exclusive, but the general consensus from people who say they know him… Chris Hart is a class act.

Wow! What a tear jerker!! But a very powerful episode as well.

In this episode Scott returns to Three Rivers with his new heart being rejected by his body. Dr. Andy at first tries various treatments to get him out of rejection but they are not working. Scott, who has been through so much already, is ready to let nature take its course but after years of a bad relationship with his parents he can’t imagine how they would suffer, so he keeps fighting.

A young woman is brought to Three Rivers after a drowning incident but transferred to Dr. Andy when it is discovered she is internally bleeding. While she is at the hospital she crashes and nearly dies a second time of an insulin overdose…which the staff did not give her. This leads to the staff to find out which visitor has tried to kill their patient.

A runner is brought to TR with kidney failure and he requires a transplant. His wife is not a match but Dr. Foster arranges a daisy chain where 4 family members of patients all donate kidneys so that each patient gets a new kidney. The chain is almost broken when the runner is offered a kidney outside the chain but his wife, having met one of the other families who will benefit, cannot break the chain and decides to donate anyway. This storyline was VERY tense and I kept waiting for the worst to happen and the chain to be broken!! Alas it all ended well.

Scott is offered a new heart and he undergoes surgery. The new heart is immediately rejected though and Dr. Andy loses Scott on the operating table. Dr. Andy cared for Scott very much and battled for months in his corner, so he is particularly upset by the loss. Dr. Reed finds him in the cafeteria to comfort him and they end up going back to Dr. Andy’s hotel room. Thus begins the affair we saw coming between Dr. Andy and the adorable Dr. Reed.
