Moonlight Events in January

Don’t forget to mark your 2009 calendars in January. On January 20th the Moonlight Season One Boxed Set will be released. You can preorder it now and it will be delivered the day of. That way you can have a Moonlight party with your gal pals, pop some popcorn and watch Alex, Sophia, and Jason (aka Mick, Beth, and Joseph) in all their glory. Sigh…

Also, on January 23rd the Sci-Fi Network will begin airing repeats of Moonlight and they air every Friday. It will be nice to watch Alex again every Friday night…even if they are not new episodes. Enjoy!

A New Alex Interview

Alex was recently interviewed by Melody of Hollywood the Write Way. Make sure to go and read the interview! Here is what Alex had to say about is super secret upcoming show for CBS:

Moonlight came to an end, which was very sad and then I just went away for a couple of weeks to Mexico. When I came home, there were a few offers from different studios and networks. The deal that sat the best for me was what CBS was offering. They were open to negotiation points that I wanted to bring in, which was great and I discussed where I would like to go with my career. Since then, I have been developing an original series with executive producer and head writer on Criminal Minds, Simon Mirren that we have been putting together under Mark Gordon. It is an original concept that we are in the middle of pitching at the moment. It will be a one hour drama that I will be producing and starring in. It is a story of redemption but from a very different point of view.

Can’t wait to hear more!

Alex O’Loughlin staying at CBS

Alex just signed a one year holding deal with CBS. It does appear as though Nina Tassler has not ignored the HUGE following Alex has and they want to keep him close and get him working on one of their other projects in development. This is good news for Alex fans…if we can’t have our Moonlight please for the love of all that is holy find a way to bring Alex back to us. But despite Nina’s claims we DO want a good quality show and if Alex has anything to do with it…it will be. I can hardly wait to see what they have planned.

Under the one-year pact, O’Loughlin will star in a new series project for CBS that will be developed by top TV producer Mark Gordon, whose ABC Studio-based company is behind such series as ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” Lifetime’s “Army Wives” and CBS’ “Criminal Minds.”

Under the new deal with CBS, he also will be able to pitch theatrical projects to CBS Films. Woot! Alex NEEDS his own silver screen spot for sure.

Alex is The Oyster Farmer

In The Oyster Farmer, Alex O’Loughlin plays a man (Jack Flange) that robs a fish market and sends the stolen money to a remote oyster farming community where he is working for the summer. He starts to panic when his package gets dumped in the river after the mailman has a stroke. He then tries to figure out which of these community members has found his money and he makes some great friends along the way…until money or no…he can’t resist making a life for himself there. This movie also has one steamy sex scene in it starring Alex that is not to be missed!

MickBeth - We Don’t Want to Say Goodbye

It looks like Moonlight could not be saved. This is heart wrenching for MickBeth fans. We had hoped for years of story lines between our favorite vampire detective and his true love. Is seems hard to believe that season one is all we have to immortalize one of the best love stories ever told. No more sly smiles, no more sweet agony, can it be real? Here is a tribute video:

The Latest News on Alex

Just some links to keep you abreast of the latest about Alex, Moonlight, and rumors.

Nina Tassler of CBS tells us why Moonlight was cancelled. Basically she makes it sound as though the show wasn’t really that good…it just had loyal fans and they all loved Alex…not the show or the story. Hogwash Nina!!!

Jason Dohring is look forward to reuniting with O’Loughlin for DVD commentaries.

And according to Cinematic Static, CBS is replacing Grissom on the hit show CSI. They are looking for an actor to play a man that has a genetic predisposition to serial killing and dual personality. Rumor is they are kicking around some names like Laurence Fishburne, John Malkovich, and our very own Alex O’Loughlin.

Alex Asks for Your Support

Ales recently posted to his MySpace blog and while he doesn’t come right out and say that Moonlight is lost he does thank his fans for everything they have done to try and save it BUT…

He says Moonlight - Mick, Beth, Josef and the gang have been laid to rest.

We all fought so hard.
We all worked so hard.
I guess some things are simply out of our hands.

I look forward with great anticipation to giving you all the news of the next chapter in this crazy career of mine!!
