A long time Moonlight fan named Beth recently got to meet Alex on the set of Three Rivers while she worked there for a day as an extra. She has given me permission to post a picture she had taken of them together. Thanks Beth! Here is what she had to say about the experience:
So when were at the lunch tent eating I saw him get up to get some water and went right up and asked for the picture. It’s hard to believe but he’s even sweeter and more adorable in person. I told him I was a big moonlight fan and he reached right out to take my hand, and asked me my name. When I told him it’s Beth, he smiled, surprised and said “Oh really?” I told him I watch moonlight all the time and then I got someone to take the picture. I said “you have to pretend that I’m, the other Beth” and he said “Oh I will.” He just couldn’t have been nicer, really.
I told him that we’re all pulling for Three Rivers to be picked up, and he was nodding, agreeing, almost pleading. “Yes , Yes” He really want this to work out. He is working so hard, Let me tell you he didn’t stop all day, and as busy as he was, was still as so sweet to take the time to talk to me and take the picture.
Wow Beth!!! Congrats on getting to meet him and see him in his scrubs…which we can see from the photo. I love a man in scrubs!!
First I want to say, yes, let’s be careful how we word our encouragement to CBS about “Three Rivers” I LOVE medical shows! One with Alex would be absolute heaven (well, maybe, next to a “Moonlight” movie!) I watched ER for years, but when the last original character left, I lost interest, but had watched and enjoyed it for years. Also, my husband and I are huge fans of “House” and “Gray’s Anatomy” (although I have to tell him he can look once the needle stick scenes are over!)
How do you all think about mentioning how much we love the medical shows, perhaps even naming the ones we love? Does anyone think that would be beneficial or hurt his chances?
I definitely believe what Beth said about how sweet and kind Alex is. Back last summer, I wrote him a letter and told him the specifics I was particularly impressed with in his work and that I wished him all the blessings there are. I had also asked in the letter if he would consider giving me his autograph. I even enclosed a self-stamped and addressed envelope because I know his time is limited. After work one day, I was sitting at the computer and my husband brings in the mail and puts a huge envelope in front of me. One of those with the lick-seal and the brad for extra protection in sealing it. I looked at my husband and I said “oh, sweetie, what did you do?” He finally convinced me he had no idea what it was or whom it was from.
Since that kind of package always looks important to me (I guess because the double seals?) I opened it gently and started to pull out what was inside. He sent me an 8″ x 12 ” publicity photo to me! What he wrote on the photo was done in a very movie-star-like silver pen! Best of all, he personalized it by writing his little note on the front using my name! I couldn’t believe he took the time to do that! I have my photo in a silver frame on my bedside table. Does my hubby mind? No! Actually it made it all the more fun because my hubby was so happy for me that I received it!
Sorry, this is getting to be a long post…I tend to be long-winded, especially when it comes to Alex!!!!
Hi Everyone – as far as contacting CBS about the pilot – there are pros and cons – depending on the wording of the e-mail, the pro side of this would be to let CBS know that there is an audience out there for a new medical drama since ER is done, and Grey’s Anatomy will end one of these days, the con side is too obvious – I agree with Tish on this – if we all start bombarding CBS with comments only mentioning Alex, then we would be playing right into NT’s hands by focusing solely on Alex and not what the show is about. We want to show support for Alex but we have to be careful how we choose to do it. We would all be devistated if the pilot was not picked up due to, as NT put it so coldly – “actor-centric” fans and not fans of the show itself. It would be nice to get Alex’s input to see how he would want his fans to handle this. Maybe Tiffany can get more info for us as it gets closer to May. Until next time, stay well everyone.

Wow, Alex looks so hot in this photo! Can’t wait to have him back on TV. While I’d prefer to have Moonlight reinstated, I’ll happily watch Three Rivers to see him. I hope it is a really good show with many opportunities for shirtlessness for Alex. I am so jealous of this woman who is actually TOUCHING him!

contacting CBS about wanting Three Rivers to be picked up as a weekly TV series may have exactly the opposite effct than we want it to have…
Again Nina Tassler will claim that this is because we are all just actor-centric and she will not even consider that we know absolute great talent as we have seen of Alex in both Moonlight and other filming, especially from his performances in Australian productions… To Tassler we are nothing more that the leftover cult who craved Moonlight and we all had this fantasy affair going on with Alex…
SORRY THIS IS HOW I SEE TASSLER’S MIND CHURNING AND IT IS NOT A PRETTY MIX…
I do hope it works for those who care to attempt this communication, but we were never listened to from the word go with Moonlight and this will be no different… No I am not giving up on Alex, not by a long shot, or his new pilot, I am just totally disgusted with CBS & an imbeccile like Nina Tassler… She has made CBS network, which was once highly regarded before the Tassler Reign, a laughing stock in both the entertainment field and around the world…

But we all wish we were extras on the pilot filming of Three Rivers…Don’t we now????
i am so jealous of beth, both actually! im still trying to get over the fact that alex is hopefully going to be back on t.v. where i can watch it! man, if i was her i would never wash anything i was wearing that day! i would give almost anything to be able to be an extra on three rivers, but i live in texas, so not a chance :(. beth you are the luckiest person i dont know!
He looks great. It’s nice to see that Alex had time to spent some time with a fan.
I like him, he is an amazing actor and I’m a big fan of Katherine Moennig.
Both of them acting in a show together is fantastic.
I’m very excited about this and I really hope the show gets picked up.

Beth was an extra for one day,I think that is the total, on the set for the Three Rivers Pilot in Pittsburgh… Yes, she is a lucky lady and don’t we all wish Alex would give us all a hug????
