This site has had its fair share of comments lately that Moonlight can be resurrected after the demise of Three Rivers. I have also had emails asking about “rumors” that something along these lines was indeed going on.
Kristen Don Santo of E Online decided to see if these rumors had any substance and her sources are saying no. One of the original writers and producers had no idea these rumors were circulating and CBS also spoke up and denied that they were seeking fan feedback.
I think the rumors are are being started by die hard Moonlight fans to whip Alex’s fan base into a frenzy of letter writing and campaigning again. I don’t think any Alex fans would be opposed to seeing Moonlight come back… in fact I think they would be “over the moon” if it did but I would hate to see the fans get jerked around again with false hope. What do you think?
In my opinion it’s not right to cancel Moonlight.
Why does such a great series? All people I asked told me, that Moonlight was a way better than the popular film Twilight. Million of people liked this show, not only the americans…german, british, french and a lot more. They looked forward to see this show with its great actors.They wanted to know how the story went on.
Maybe one can think, that the end of the first season can be seen as an end for the whole series too, but I don’t think so. It can’t end like this. That’s not fair. When you cancel the series, than please write a book or something, so that the loyal viewers know how it really ends. If it’s because of money, than please be so fair and honorable and write the story down, so we can read it.
Shouldn’t it be a honor for the person, who had the idea for the story, that so many people liked it?
Maybe this writing of me will never reach those who are supposed to read it. But perhaps there is a chance, that one day there will be someone who find this letter of me and thinks about how to thank all those loyal viewers. Because even though the show is canceled, there are still people who watch it…and like it.
I know that my letter might not help to get the show back but I had to try it at least, Because I don’t know what someone like me can do.
I don’t know if it will be helpful, but if you, who read this text, want the show to go on, you could copie it and post it in forums and so one, than maybe someone will really see it, how we all worked together to get Moonlight, that we love, back!

Bring back Moonlight the series period – great show that never should have been taken off in the first place. Then we’ll get Alex back in the roll he was meant to play. If not this, then give the fans a movie to wrap it all up in – it would be a blockbuster for sure especially with all the hoopla surrounding it since it went off the air. Not only the fans would be there but new fans curious as to what it was all about that created such a stir.
Look at the tv series “Firefly” — also canceled to quickly and was a cult hit. If given a chance, it could have been even a more successful series. So years later though, they did make the movie about it to wrap it all up in – “Serenity” … was a hit. And … people are into buying it today on DVD.
Let’s put it this way – you can’t go wrong with good shows and great talent in the cast. These shows meshed in their own uniqueness and fans loved them. Why not finally give us something to finalize Moonlight in the proper way and that we can cherish always.
MoonLight, MOONLIGHT,MOONLIGHT. I thought this site was for ALEX.
Yes MoonLight was good. And it really showed off our Alex, But guys lets move on.
Support ALEX in whatever he does, and leave MoonLight Burried.
OK – I still am bummed out they aren’t going to bring Moonlight back in any form. Never fear though, I will always be a true Alex fan no matter what projects he takes on. He’s a great guy and actor and everything he does will keep showing more and more people just why his devoted fans stick with him through everything.
But I just want to post here a “Why can’t they do a Moonlight movie?’ piece — if the cult tv hit Firefly (also canceled way too soon) did a movie on the hit show called Serenity and really increased their fanbase and was successful, why can’t Moonlight? Here’s a clip of just what I’m saying …

People like new and fresh programming that has a great cast, storyline and look and is full of action, suspense, romance, fantasy, sci-fi. So why not let us have what we yearn for and you know what, you can make a bundle from the deal and go home happy you made others happy too.
Come on guys, we’re all going to have a split between MoonLighters, and just Loving Alex
for who he is. Write to SyFy see if they will pick up MoonLight. I think 3yrs is too long to wait for season 2. I would love to see ALEX on NBC with Three Rivers. CBS messed up dropping
MoonLight after 1 season. Look at the Vamp Obsession now.
But my feeling is CBS doesn’t need a 3rd chance to mess with our ALEX.
The CW is looking at a new Vamp series.

hey i just check to see if “SYFY” channel has it listed as one of their series they show and well.. if you go over to syfy.com. and look under shows.. you will find it listed there and well they have a page for it. NO JOKE OR KIDDING.. ITS THERE.. CHECK IT OUT.

It is true that the cop shows seem to hang around, but wasn’t Moonlight a cop show? The PI always trying to stop the bad guy be it a human or one of the undead. That is really part of the reason it appealed to everyone. The guys watched it for the action and the who done it, the women started that but soon fell in the three ring romance of Mick, Beth and Coraline. The youth well they are intrigued by the vampire thing. Lets face it that point grabbed us all. The writer problems didn’t help Moonlight but with a backing of 7 million plus they could of overcome it. They didn’t even try. So now by us having to sit back while the TR thing was attempted when most of us knew after the first night it didn’t look good, its TIME. Yes it is now time to give Moonlight the chance it should of always gotten in the first place. CBS is the #1 network they just need a little help with the people they have working for them. I am as angry with them and Tassler for what they have done to Alex but if they just realized this before it could of been helped. I say this is your chance CBS and Tassler give us what you took, MOONLIGHT. If you already have a show that was #1 in its time slot on Friday night then there is no need to remake one. Moonlight is original and Alex is Mick, bottom line. Make a Hawaii Five O movie if you must remake it but let the new ideas and shows have the TV. I have a real good feeling about this and I think (of course I am always thinking POSITIVE) Moonlight could make a comeback. Tassler knows she messed up and that the die hard moonlighters are still here we have remained constant. Pretty amazing if you think about it. How many out there are like me and knew nothing of Alex Oloughlin until Moonlight? Now he is like on our minds and in our thoughts every day. I have been buying movies not because I heard someone saw them but because Alex is in them. CBS has this awesome man in their employ, they would be even more crazy than I already think they are if they let him get away. Bringing back Moonlight , thats the answer it always has been. Nana, CBS is the #1 network… obviously people aren’t bored with their programming or they wouldn’t be #1. There is a market for cop shows as evidenced by their huge success. The fact that so many CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, shows and spinoffs are on air and making money is because MANY people like them. Do I like them? Not really. They have to offer something unique… like the Mentalist.. love that show. The others I don’t watch. But I don’t pretend that because I don’t like them they must be boring shows. I find them boring and perhaps you do to but that in no way reflects the majority I am afraid. The shows that get cancelled are the ones CBS takes a chance on… TR and Moonlight are examples. Cops and robbers, law shows, survivalist shows, reality shows, those are what are selling right now… vanilla shows for vanilla networks. I like small doses of that and then I go to the WB, and cable networks for my main entertainment.
I think Hawaii Five O “could” be remade into something really fresh and fun if done right. But I think you have already demonstrated you are ONLY interested in a Moonlight revival.

Cozette,we all seem to be of the same opinion.CBS is bad news for Alex.We all want to see Alex on our TV again but not with CBS as they will let Alex and us down for a third time. If CBS want to do whats best for Alex then they should let him go.Once free of the CBS hex Alex won’t be unemployed for long believe me.
I would watch Alex in anything he does but I really hope it’s not with cbs,they have messed Alex up twice now and I don’t want to see him go through it again.I am hoping for a moonlight movie and Alex could still do a TV series as well. Lots of actors do movies as well as TV. Please Alex think hard before going with cbs again and believing the BS that comes out of Tassler’s mouth. It seems they have some kind of hold over you like Coraline has over Mick St John. Not good!!!

Hawaii Five 0? It was a show of the 70’s and a pretty good one but why remake something else. Moonlight works. I know that we don’t want Alex out of work and just sitting around but do we want him given another show like TR? Moonlight was his and all his, he and that terrific cast made it what it was. They had great writers but the actors made Moonlight something we looked forward to every week. I really believe theat Nina Tassler now realizes the terrible wrong that she made and it is time, Time to correct it. Moonlight had 7 million plus watching when it was cancelled and I know that number will go up the minute it resurfaces. Vampires are in and they are not going anywhere. I say do not bother with a remake of anything just go forward with Moonlight. Jack Lord is Five 0 just like Tom Selleck is Magnum. Alex is Mick St. John!!! Need I say more? More Moonlight as always!!!!!!!!!!
Well I for one would L O V E to see our ALEX weekly again.
But as far as CBS, they don’t deserve the chance to have Alex back.
They have broke his Heart and the Hearts of all his fans for not giving MOONLIGHT
or THREE RIVERS a chance at season 2 on either of them. A remake of Hawaii
5 O, just don’t know. NBC tried a remake of Knight Rider, I thought it was good,
but no 2 season there either.
I think Three Rivers would do good on NBC at the 10 slot where E R was.
Look how good that did for 10 seasons.

Will the third time be the charm for CBS and Alex O’Loughlin?
Undeterred by the back-to-back failures of Moonlight and Three Rivers, The Eye net is courting O’Loughlin to headline the freshly-greenlit remake of Hawaii Five-O, sources confirm.
“Talks are ongoing,†says the insider. “CBS really wants to do another series with him.â€
The original Five-O — which starred Jack Lord as Det. Steve McGarrett — ran on CBS from 1968-1980. The update is being shepherded by Fringe writer-producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as well as CSI: NY e.p. Peter Lenkov.
At press tour last week, CBS president Nina Tassler reiterated her strong desire to stay in business with O’Loughlin. “We love him,†she said, “and want him to stay around a long time.â€

Terri your comment about writing Warner Brothers is one of the most sensible ideas I’ve read. I must confess. In all the research I’ve done, I did not find that WB owned the rights to ML. I never bought the idea that other networks just passed on picking up Moonlight because of lack of interest. There is a lot that goes on behind closed doors that we will never know about. CBS has influence. As I have stated before, you don’t get to the top because you’re a nice person and you don’t stay there because you’ve become a nicer person. People in executive positions wheel and deal everyday. They bribe, coerce, intimidate and do whatever it takes to keep there jobs and their sometimes lucrative bonuses. People in these positions have incredible egos which when given enough authority allow them to do whatever they want. They are incapable of admitting they are wrong because to do so would mean they actually made a mistake which meant they didn’t know what they were doing. In their minds, they can’t face this so they go on as though nothing ever happened and all is right with the world and hope people will forget. Executives from our largest banks are a good example. They thought they could do whatever they wanted and when caught all would be forgotten after awhile. Wrong. Ask yourself this. If CBS was one of our biggest banks, would you trust it with your money? I’ve said this before. Alex, please take your considerable investment(your talent and fans) and run, don’t walk to another bank(network). I sincerely hope that CBS is not trying to intimidate or coerce you to stay with it. CBS could try to do the right thing but honestly the execs there can’t get past their own egos and self importance to figure out what the right thing is. They just go on and pretend everything is alright and someday the controversy and the wack jobs(enthusiastic fans) will finally silence themselves and go away and this will all be just an unpleasant memory. And they are right, but as long as we are all alive we will always remember that CBS did the wrong thing by canceling Moonlight and there is no one like the federal government with the banks to make the network execs do the right thing. Sorry this is so negative but as I said in the past, I have worked with people like these my whole life. Just when you think you’ve lost a bad exec, another one takes his/her place. People in these positions don’t care what they have to do to get the golden ring. They don’t think the way ordinary people think. Books written about these type of people suggest they are borderline sociopaths. It is a wonder that people are surprised that they don’t listen when ordinary people speak to them. These people don’t have a very high regard for the little person unless it means more money in their pockets. When I see Alex working with people at CBS, I see him swimming in a tank full of sharks. I’d like to say that execs from other networks are better but I have my doubts. All Alex can really do is consider going to a different tank which hopefully have smarter sharks.

But one thing for sure the buzz about vampires and the buzz about Moonlight is still going, we the fans are still talking about it and that tells me it just isn’t dead. Ok this is by second comment, I first saw Moonlight on the Syfy channel and ever since I rush home to watch it. I bought the DVD set , and every night I watch an episode. Please bring back Moonlight the story line was great . Alex is a great actor that is the first time I ever saw this actor, and I need to know what happen behind the doors in that last episode . Please, please bring back moonlight I am sick of reality TV. I saw August Rush I dont remember seeing Alex so I will watch August Rust again.
The reality is that Moonlight was a better show that Three Rivers. Moonlight was unique — good story line, visually pleasing, with an excellent ensemble cast. Similar to what has made NCIS a success, you wanted to know what happened to the characters so you kept on watching.
I watched Three Rivers but while the concept was good, the story line and characters were not as interesting.
I am doubtful that Moonlight will come back. Hopefuly, Alex will find another avenue to showcase his considerable talents. I will be waiting……

Just read your very comprehensive comments on the whole ML thing and I totally agree. Thank you for your very explicit take on the whole fiasco. While I know I will support completely any project that Alex O takes on, I would be thrilled to see Moonlight again. I hope someday CBS will wake up and smell the coffee.

Bring back Moonlight? In my opinion thats the only thing cbs should do. ML had 7 million people watching in its time slot and was #1, yes I said #1 in its time slot among all the other networks. Why it was ever cancelled is just not sensible. I am a die hard Moonlighter and I watched Three Rivers because of Alex. With Moonlight it really wasn’t Alex that first got me to tune in, but it was what kept me interested and coming back. Three Rivers was just not as good as Moonlight but I agree with some of the other comments and quite frankly I haven’t seen many shows that are as good as Moonlight. Vampire Diaries is getting pretty popular and is the #1 show on the CW, but its would take a backseat to Moonlight if I had to pick between the 2. Lets face it cbs had the start of the Vampire Craze with Moonlight and it has only gotten stronger since. The third Twilight movie is coming and True Blood is starting to film its third season, looks like Vampire Diaries is catching on as well. Why would anyone in their right mind not want a piece of that profitable pie? Is CBS and Nina Tassler certifiably NUTS? I really feel for Alex but this is not his fault. He is a superb actor and without a doubt one of the best in his field, and yes I am Partial but he said when he was doing Moonlight that he had always wanted to do the vamp thing and with Moonlight he was sooooooo!!!!!!! Those eyes and the way he sniffed the air, oh yes I was ….. so were all of you. I think now that TR is not going to make it cbs should go with the show that was bringing in the viewers. I also agree that I do not get why they are so interesrted in what we the fans think if they are not going to like what we say or keep the shows that we like watching. I can’t stand the reality stuff, either. I just don’t get what these people think. Moonlight even won the Saturn Award last June for a show that was cancelled. Here we are about 2 years after the cancellation and what are we all still talking about, MOONLIGHT!!!!!!!!! Vampire addicted,I agree with most of what you said with the excepyion of CBS bringing back moonlight.In my opinion we should all snubb CBS and send your letters, postcards.banners etc to Warner Bros. CBS have screwed Alex over twice and that is two times too many.He deserves better. However Warner Bros. own the rights to moonlight and if we all flood their mail box with our letters,postcards etc. they may listen and they will treat Alex better than Tassler and her hench men.
I have been sending my letters (email and snail mail) to Warners begging for a moonlight movie.I think if the movie is successful then maybe they would bring the tv show back.I have stressed to them that it would have to be the same cast and writers..Munson and Koslow.

MOONLIGHT was then Now he has grown so much in his acting. I would really like to see the last few episodes of Three Rivers.The small screen and especially CBS. won’t give Alex a shot at running a full season. And as far as a traget age, I’m 60 and love to watch him move. He makes me wish i was 40 years younger, Can’t wait for his next chapter. Alex needs

Cozette – I Alex has grown tremendously in his acting, it’s because of ML.. He said himself he put his all into the series. You wanna see his brilliance as an actor – watch ML. He’s never (TR included) been better. Just grew as the season progressed. He loved it , put his heart and soul into it, and 18-20 hours a day. He grew in his acting skills alright…in Moonlight!

The People’s Choice Awards is advertising itself as listening to the people. FALSE!!!!!!! Moonlight won the awards and was immediately cancelled. How about all of Alex’s fans calling attention to that false advertising? I definitely will not be watching that program tonight.
I was a Moonlight fan. I wish it had run 4 or 5 years and given me a great DVD collection like other of my favorite shows did, but I recognize the selfishness in that. I liked all the actors in it and certainly do not want any of them to fail in the future. I really tried to like Three Rivers, but could not. I don’t blame anyone for it’s demise. I do agree with everyone that CBS did not promote either show very well and THAT I do not understand. They put money into both but did nothing to help either succeed. Sure, I would love to see Moonlight back on, but unfortunately that is a fantasy I suspect will never come true. I think Alex may have made an interesting James Bond as well. I hope his new movie plays well. Few TV shows have grabbed my attention as strongly as Moonlight did. I will miss it. Personally I think Alex should dump CBS, they have done him no favors. I hope to see more of his work in the future. I appreciate the effort Tiffany makes here, she doesn’t have to.

Don’t want to get into it except to add my two cents and say I absolutely fell in love with Alex on ML, butwent on from there to realize what a great actor he is and have enjoyed all of his films and tv appearances. You would think that CBS would be very interested in Fan Feedback wouldn’t you? After all – who are the shows they put on tv for if not for the fans?? I personally would be totally “over the moon” to see more Moonlight – It was and still is my favourite show off all time and Alex the sexiest Vampire…….anyway, lets hope that at least they give him a decent role this time that lasts more than one season!
I loved the Moonlight series, especially the love story of Alex and Beth. Alex is intoxicating to say the least. I could watch that man forever! I was really upset when it was cancelled, three rivers was good, but it just wasn’t Alex. He was great, but didn’t have much to work with. Why they don’t bring it back, I don’t know. They have all these stupid shows, reality crap, murders, etc. It doesn’t have to be CBS; it can be any other channel. It would be a winner no matter what channel it was on. We loved it!

1 : What happend the morring after Mike told Beth that he love’s her and they shared that oh so intense kiss that had all the moonlight fans almost drown in there own drool 😀
2 : Who was that man on the other end of the phone who gave left the envolope on Benjamin Talbot’s desk with all the names of the vamp’s and the pic’s of Mick being run down by the car and then getting back up agan ?? .. was it the phyco repoter man who took the pic’s in the first place ??? did the other vamp boy’s who were “serposed” to kill him . “turn” him in the end ??? and if he is now a vamp is he going to out … kill more for revenge ??? .
3 : Did Josph end up “turning” the lawer / his freshie ??? and if so how did it turn out ??
4 : How was Beth first day working for Benjamin Talbot ?? and will he be acting/treating her differanly now ?? will he be watching her … makeing notes ect ???
5 : What happend to Coraline ( Mick’s ex ) when her vamp brother’s took her away ?? .. did she escape ?? … live ??
6 : Did Coraline or Mick get to find out the secret of the compound that hides the singes of vampierisem ??
7 : And if yes then how will the rest of the vamps reacted ?? … what will happen to Mike’s and Josph friendship???…. will they be on differant side’s ??? .. will it start a inner vamp war ???
8 : Dose Josp’s girlfriend who he tried to turn and ended up in a coma wake up ?? .. and if she doe and josph has turned the lawer hao doese he handel haveing two wife vamp’s ???
9 : And will Mick’s computer haker friend Logan Griffen ever leave the house now that he went out in the last ep ??

Oh, you don’t know how much I would like those questions addressed in a Season II, NEVER WILL HAPPEN if produced by CBS. CBS only likes CSI, CSI-NY, CSI-LA, NSCI-LV NCSI, COLD CASE, CRIMINAL MINDS, etc. Their entire line-up is made up of these shows. It’s all about KILLING. NO THANK YOU CBS.
Roberta and Heather you are both right but we Alex/ML fans won’t give up the fight till we have our closure.So lets hope Warner Bros find another network to take on season 2 or at the least make the movie and give the fans an ending to this fantastic love story.
I agree with your comment on no: 1 I would like to no what happen after that door was closed knowing how insecure Alex was after Coraline, and how reluctant he was to give Beth a chance. That is how intence and great Moonlight was. Lets not forget Josef he was briliant.

I read the comments from CBS and E-Online concerning Moonlight and was very disappointed. CBS won’t do it (bring it back) because that would be like saying they really messed up on their decision. It’s really sad too. I purchased to copies of Moonlight for Christmas gifts this year because I like the show and wanted others to see it. After viewing Moonlight, they (gift receiptants) also felt that CBS cheated the public with their decision concerning Season II. Oh well, I am going to stop seaching in hopes that it will happen while Alex is still young enough to play the part. Any news about future parts for ANY of the cast of Moonlight? CBS likes only “killer” shows. They have added a new CSI-LA now. Money is on extreme deaths not life giving shows like Three Rivers. Have a Happy New Year everyone!

I was/am a huge fan of MickBeth and loved the bromance between Mick and Josef, but everyone has to move on. Jason Dohring and Sophia Myles have both moved on and Alex has this great looking film coming out so I feel it is happens it happens! Although a film would take time to write and put together and would need to be spectacular to hold the die hard fans and gain new ones. I personally can’t wait to see Alex in something new, or maybe release some music!!!

Moonlight didn’t get any advertising here in Australia.I stumbled across it by accident while channel surfing.I was already aware of Alex here in Australia and that plus the fact that it was about vampires( I’m crazy about anything supernatural,sci fi fantasy) I decided to watch it.I was taken in first episode and was very proud of Alex”s portrayal of Mick.
In fact the entire cast had me.Reading a lot of comments on other websites I realised a lot of countries didn’t know about ML untill it came out on dvd.I could see this because they were asking about season 2.I don’t think cbs will ever admit to making a huge mistake and I doubt there will ever be a season 2 BUT fingers crossed Warner Bros will listen to the fans (they own the rights to ML )and make a ML movie,even if it is only for tv.I will always follow Alex in what he does and I think BUP could possibly be his break through.Can’t wait to see it.
Moonlight aired at the wrong time. If it were aired this year it would have taken off, and we would have been able to enjoy second and maybe evern thired series. There was hardly any advertising for Moonlight in Australia and I think that may be the case in other countries. If it were advertised right there would be more viewers.

Nana, first of all, don’t insult us by typing in all capital letters, that says that you are yelling at us only it is in print and that is rude. Second, just because SyFy is running episodes of “Moonlight” does not mean that it is alive and well, SyFy is just filling a time slot “Sweetie”.
No one is faulting anyone for how they choose to spend their time, but if efforts prove to be unsuccessful, that sounds like wasted time. As far as separating supporters from non-supporters, those are your words but from the very first mention of “Three Rivers”, people refused to accept it and only wanted to see Alex and “Moonlight”. That separates those who only want “Moonlight” from those who want to see Alex in something else. As far as your comment or question on “how is this hurting Alex” – that’s simple. When an actor tries to move on and try different types of roles as not to be type cast in one certain genre, i.e. vampires, and people only want to see that actor doing the same old thing, then it hurts that actor. Yes, “Moonlight” was the big eye-opener for most of us, but Alex is so much more than “Moonlight” but if people only want to see him in “Moonlight” and nothing else, then that is not showing support for Alex, but one single program that he happened to in. Is that fair to pigeon hole him that way just because that’s what you want? How you and others choose to spend your time is up to you – hope your efforts pay off but it’s been 2 yrs. now and there is nothing concrete to show for it. If your efforts pay off, I will be one of the first ones to say “job well done” but until then, a lot of us have moved on and are looking forwrad to see what is next for Alex, like “The Back Up Plan” – but it’s not “Moonlight” so it’s anyone’s guess as to how people will support it.

I can’t see too well and writing in CAPS helps me .. who made that stupid rule about CAPS. People used caps (printing) for a long time and no one complained until some English Professor thought up the stupid run that it’s screaming in writing.
All this talk about “Moonlight” returning amazes me and is becoming so old and tiring to hear – – don’t you think that if there was any chance of a return, it would have taken place already. It’s been cancelled for 2 yrs. now and all the other networks and cable channels had a chance to pick it up and passed on it – that says a lot – it says that there is no interest from the entertainment industry for a “Moonlight” return, only from people who refuse to accept the fact that “Moonlight” is over and refuse to move on. Don’t get me wrong, I loved “Moonlight” and was and still am sad that it is was cancelled but OMG – it is what it is and apparently all the wasted time and effort from “Moonlight” fans and not Alex fans is just that, wasted time and effort. It has been said many times that a lot of people became fans of Alex because of “Moonlight”, I am one of those people but I have not stopped supporting Alex because “Moonlight” is over. I want Alex to succeed and if it means moving on, as he is is trying to do, then move on – if you are only a fan of the genre of vampires and not willing to support Alex in anything other than “Moonlight” then you may be in for a very long wait but then, you’ve already wasted 2 yrs. of time waiting for something to happen. Do you think Alex is sitting around waiting for a “Moonlight” return, doubtful because he has moved on and wants to do more than be a vampire. It’s time to let go, move on, and support Alex in whatever it is that he may be doing. Guess a lot of this posting will fall on deaf ears because there are those out there who just flat out refuse to move on, how sad. I am a vamp addict too and I’m not just talking about Moonlight,Twilight,Trueblood and Vampire Diaries.I have so many books and movies about vampires it sometimes worries my family and friends lol.But I must say none of my movie collection has been watched nearly as much as Moonlight.I can probably quote line for line too.I am also a big fan of Alex and the fact that he had the lead role in Moonlight was the icing on the cake.I can’t put my finger on it but something about Moonlight made it way above all the other vamp shows and that includes Twilight (acting below average and whats with the sparkles).Was it the writers combined with the cast and crew and the smouldering chemistry of Mick and Beth and not to forget the loyal friendship between Mick and Josef.

I would love to see Moonlight make a comeback!! Alex is an amazing actor and he was incredible in this series! With the vampire craze being as hot as it is, this would be the perfect time to resurrect it….a movie would be awesome, too!!!!
I, as would many Alex (Mick St John)fans love nothing more than to see Moonlight come back to our TV’s but I don’t think it will happen.It wouldn’t work unless the original cast were brought back as well as the original writers(episodes 1- 12).That I believe will be the main reason it wont return,it would be very hard getting the cast back as they have moved on.BUT
I do believe we could get a movie as the cast could probably get together for a movie and work it round their other commitments.As do a lot of actors who have TV shows and manage to star in movies.I am hoping this will happen in the not too distant future.

I never watched Three Rivers because I don’t like Medical shows.I loved Moonlight, if the show comes back of course I’ll watch it. Most of the viewers watch a show because they love the story and the characters, no because a particular actor. Lots of shows with more famous actors than Alex bombed because the stories were no good.Just because I loved Moonlight it doesn’t mean I must watch anything Alex,Sophia or Jason do, sorry , and that doesn’t mean I haven’t move on.I have moved on to True Blood .I never watched Three Rivers , a show about transplants , Ouch!, and the show being at CBS didn’t help either.I am sorry but I watched Desp.H instead. CBS said Moonlight was about Alex , for some of you Yes , but not for most of us ,and liked or not Three Rivers bombing in such a terrible way is a big prove of that.
Three Rivers did not bomb. It usually had around 8 million viewers which is pretty darn close to what Moonlight had. What Moonlight had was more of the targeted younger viewers (18-49).

Nana, the beef is that frankly I get tired of Moonlighters coming on this site and talking about how Three Rivers sucked. That is YOUR personal opinion and not shared by MANY of Alex’s fans. Just check out the episode recaps here and all the wonderful comments they got. Some people really enjoyed the show, even if it wasn’t Moonlight. To come and say nasty things about the show is like spitting on their feelings. And it is just plain RUDE. Second, it is quite obvious to all that a select group of Moonlight fans who could not let go of the show were campaigning to get it back even while Alex was in TR…. that is NOT support and Alex asked his fans to not do that. When fans keep campaigning for a defunct show when the actor has moved on, when they don’t support his new roles, then it becomes an issue of trying to FORCE that actor into the role(s) you want, not allowing them to choose. Well before TR aired we had Moonlighters coming here and saying that they hoped TR was cancelled before it even started. They are NOT Alex fans IMO.

i can’t believe alex would want his fans to accept subpar acting, storyline, and totally depressing program….what is wrong with wainting more moonlight? it is the best thing he has done, to date….the man is a actor, not some demigod to be worshiped, and followed just because he is alex….if the show is worth watching, the general public will join us in watching, not because it is alex but because it is a good program….just alex fans need to wake up to the fact, that the acting business is a hard mistress, and you must produce to keep her at home……
I totally agree. Alex is a great actor and can carry whatever part is given him. However, regardless of Alex being in the TV show of Criminal Minds, I didn’t like the part he played nor the part he played in Whiteout. I thought Whiteout was pretty good except for some of the directing… didn’t bring out or follow some story lines and the best of his cast. I want Moonlight back in the worst way but I don’t think it would be the same unless ‘all’ of the cast were in it. Sophia, Jason, etc. They really back up and amplified Alex’s part. I can’t wait to see Back Up Plan. I think he would be good as MacGarret in H5O too. CBS has already had the first casting call for this production, so it is a reality. Anyway, again, unless the show is good I don’t see it regardless of who is staring. If someone I really like is in a movie I will follow ‘all’ reveiws before I see it.
I first must tell you that I am a die hard Moonlight fan and would like nothing more than to see the return of the show and I am one of those who have never given up on the hope that someone at CBS would get their head on straight and realize what they did. I knew nothing of Alex until Moonlight and his acting and the vampire eyes and the way he smelled the air were something to watch, but Moonlight had a story and it was the kind that kept you coming back for more every week, you were looking forward to the next show every week. I followed Alex to Three Rivers and was deeply saddened by its demise but that was of no fault of Alex. Alex moved on and the Moonlighters went with him but our hearts will always remember our beloved Mick St. John. I believe that it is our hope and always has been that when we realized Three Rivers wasn’t cutting it that maybe CBS might of finally realized what a hit they had with Moonlight and that might be enough to revive the show. The story in TR just wasn’t enough to keep the fans coming back, but Alex was enough to keep us watching if that makes any sense. I own the dvd’s of Moonlight and watch them all the time and could probably quote you them line for line but I love the show and have this stupid thing for vamps. I went to see New Moon and it was good but Moonlight is better. I have been keeping up with the Vampire Diaries and that show is good as well. I even saw where it is fast becoming one of the most watched on the CW. Gee, someone else out there must love vampires. However it will still not hold a candle to Moonlight. I am looking forward to The Back Up Plan and will continue to follow Alex. I even bought the dvd Oyster Farmer, Mary Bryant and Feed. There is a particularly racey part in the Oyster Farmer that should not be missed, takes place on the dock. Any how I am a fan because of Moonlight and Alex is a actor and a good one! I have enjoyed everthing I have seen him in but he will always be the one that made vampires soooooo sexy. I miss Moonlight and would welcome its return and still hope for it . I am of the never say never attitude. BUT my best wishes to Alex and I am so sorry about TR. I was watching but I guess we need to blame CBS. Vampires are in, Twilight , True Blood, the Vampire Diaries, it was a bad time for CBS to decide they did not want a piece of that pie. I know, they could pick up Moonlight on the set of TR. Mick is hidding out in the hospital as Dr. Andy and the story could go from there. It could happen…….

I love Moonlight and I hope, if CBS will listen to us that they will either run the episodes that was never seen or at lease give Mick and Beth another chance by picking up the series again. As Alex’s fan’s we will be ever so grateful!!
Your wrong to think Moonlight fans couldn’t move on. A lot of Moonlight fans were “Alex Fans” before Moonlight. Its just sad that Three Rivers was such a boring crappy show. Alex did the very best he could with what he had to work with.
of as one door closes as of moonlight, and now of as that be Three Rivers… to which I am of still holding & yup that of hope that just maybe CBS will keep its word of to air the episodes that are of completed and are just awaiting their airing.. to which as to possibly of as to well CBS of to possible that is keep their word sort of speak… aka cbs.com and politley let them know that of this would of be nice and that for sure awaiting to see theses episodes… and yup if we get on the stick sort of speak and were to contact cbs of this… and YES in a politely way w/ honey and not the other… well who knows…
anyways.. of when theses episodes of air… and that door of well… for sure something even much more than any of us can think of in a postive way for sure can happen.. right?
I watched Moonlight every Friday when it was on. Loved every episode from beginning to end. Wished for more. I followed Alex from Moonlight to Three Rivers. I enjoyed watching Alex very much. Had missed him on my TV for so long. Suddenly he was doing promos, interviews, videos, etc. I was overjoyed with all the Alex stuff! I had such high hopes for Three Rivers. Character interpersonal development never really materialized. We never did get to know the characters really well. I look forward to The Back-up Plan which looks really funny and an enjoyable film! Can’t wait. Alex will promo the movie and there will be new Alex interviews!!!! Yay! I will buy the DVD when it comes out. Hope that there are extras like commentary from Alex and outtakes from the film. Will follow Alex to his next project. I look for good things from him as he is a kind, intelligent, and talented actor. Hope for a Moonlight movie in the meantime too! Go Alex!
I disagree with some of the comments about ALex fans hoping for a return of Moonlight and not moving on after it was cancellesd I started watching Moonlight because it was on between Ghost Whisperer and Num3ers and was too “lazy” to change the channel. I fell for Moonlight after the first episode and became an instant Alex fan. When it was cancelled I was upset, like many others, knowing that if the show was given a chance it would reach it’s full potential. (Remember other shows dropped from one channel and going on for years on another…JAG, 7th Heaven and now Southland) . When Three Rivers came on I watched primarily because of Alex and was waiting for better story lines like everyone else. (The episode witrh Mandy Patankin was far and away the best episode). I think a lot of people will follow Alex on to his next endeavor just like we followed him to Three Rivers, whether it be in movies or on television.
I know it wont return. I watched my dvd set a few weeks ago because I miss the characters. I will never know what the writers would have done with Mick and Beth, but I can use my imagination to determine that. Moonlight is only a small piece of Alex, he has so much more for us to see. As sad as it was to hear of Three Rivers’ demise it seemed inevitable. Interpersonal relationships were developed too late and while the storylines and general tone of the show were worthy the overall writing was simply not up to par. Moonlight was a terrific show, violent, romantic, and bittersweet and over. The Back Up Plan is next focus. Even though a JLo project the trailer plants a lot of hope for shooting some adrenaline into the rom-com genre. Alex has a long and healthy future in Hollywood. I do miss the Moonlight hair, though.
I was a die-hard Moonlight fan when it was on, and was terribly sad to see it go, especially since the whole vampire craze could’ve kept it up and running had they held out a bit longer. I /did/, however, give Three Rivers plenty of chance. I screamed repeatedly the first episode (like a fangirl) , but was thouroughly disappointed with the storyline. I think I only missed two episodes the entire time it was on, waiting for the stories to get more interested and for the characters to be developed further. I mean, I can’t even remember the other characters’ names so clearly there was little backstory provided. I would have been more than happy to make a permanent space in my television schedule for the show, had it been less boring. If Moonlight came back, I would be the first in line to support it, but I’m also willing to give another Alex show ‘the ol’ college try’ as long as Alex isn’t the /only/ reason I’m willing to watch it.
I can’t believe that people are still looking for Moonlight. I loved that show but It is easy to see that Alex has moved on to bigger and better things and so should his fans. I can’t wait for his movie to come out, I think that will be his big break out. Move on people, Alex certainly has.
A) I’m sorry, but PLENTY of us gave Three Rivers a chance because we love Alex and wish him all the best, it’s not his fault the show just wasn’t up to par. Even he can’t make crappy writing and directing look good.
B) Stanton & her then husband Werksman were trying to work a previosuly failed pilot endeavor into moonlight after Joel Silver pushed the REAL original creators Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson out and CBS was not happy with the results and neither were most of the fans.
C) Her article is incorrect. No one ever said CBS had put up a forum asking about Moonlight. CBS online has a show comments form which Moonlight had been removed from and then it mysteriously reappeared a few weeks ago. It’s gone again now, but there are hundreds who saw it and can tell you so.
I agree – time was wasted on the “hope” of a Moonlight return instead of supporting Alex and
Three Rivers – how sad that these people never moved on. They were interested in Moonlight, not Alex and unfortunately, once again, Alex has to pay the price. Wonder what they’ll try to do to “support” his next project? Please, move on – Alex has.
I agree, Moonlight fans never got over Moonlight being canceled and instead of supporting Alex on his new show they keep asking for Moonlight to come back!
