Since we have been discussing Twilight of late here on the site. I thought I might throw this out there and see what people think. Would you like to see Alex in the movie sequel to Twilight called New Moon (2010) as one of the Italian vampires called the Volturi? For the scenes involving the Volturi the cast will need a dozen or so new vampires and I think our fave vampire, Alex O’Loughlin should be one of them. I was thinking maybe Aro, Alec, or Marcus. What do you think? Should we find addresses for the producers/directors of Twilight and let them know we want them to cast Alex or would he even be interested? If he DID get cast he could also be making an appearance in the 3rd and 4th movies if they make them.

More info on the Volturi.
I think Alex would be awesome in any role! what ever he decides to do I will support him and be behind him 100%
Whatever makes Alex happy;)
He is gawjuss and a perfect vampire,
i have seen all the moonlight episodes
they are great he really does well as
a vampire and he would be great in new moon!!
Yes, I am. There is just not much to write lately though. 🙁 I will be watching the Sci-Fi episodes though as they air and writing a weekly review on each episode so stay tuned for that.
Thanks, Tiffany, but you are keeping AOLO open, I hope, aren’t you???
Check out my post on Always Twilight. It has a fan made video trailer for New Moon. I am getting VERY excited to see it!
http://alwaystwilight.com/155/fan-made-new-moon-trailer/
I no longer watch CBS either & have not put any show aired on that channel on my TVs, not even a holiday special…
Anyway, let us know if anyone sees the commercial and what it is about…
But, I for one, am still hoping that the share holders of CBS fire Nina, as she is worthless and brought loss of viewers to CBS since the cancellation of Moolight and, then Viacom pulled out their alliance with CBS, and all stocks for CBS went down big time…Coincidental, well stocks began to drop when Moonlight went & then more after Viacom split…
The largest share holder of CBS Corporation is Westinghouse &, as I began pushing for prior to the holidays, it is time to some serious campaigning again via certified/return receipt snailmail to the chief execs of Westinghouse about dethroning Nina and requesting they step up and get Moonlight resurrected…
I am sure Alex could fit in more than one series as many stars do… I do hope her will oblige, when the time is right, to become Mick again because Alex’s Mick & Sophia’s Beth is the meaning of Moonlight just as Kristen Stewart’s Bella & Rob Pattinson’s Edward is what make Twilight so special…
Hi Moonlight lovers, My husband was watching a football game Sunday and there was a commercial on CBS which I do not watch anymore since the cancellation of Moonlight, but somehow I did watch the commercial and it looked like Alex’s picture was there before they showed the guy Simon Baker. Let me know if anyone saw it too. signed hopeful
Hi jackie, I find Alex the best too. Whats wrong with so focusted on Alex. There are so many male stars that are so popular because of their acting and good looks and Alex seems so sweet too. There was Rock Hudson , Mel Gibson, Paul Newman, George Cloony and the list goes on and on. Nina was so wrong to cancel Moonlight because people loved Alex. The story line of Moonlight was so good and so were the other stars. I still miss Moonlight and hoped that some how the show would come back. signed hopeful
I would love to see Alex as a vamp again BUT would he not steal the show? I really do find him the best, most cool, hottest vamp of any ever. Would too many people be focusted on him?
Oh Tiffany, don’t we all wish we were the woman!!!!
Teenish vamps for the Volturi!!!! Ridiculous because anyone who read the books, teens included, would have figured the Volturi out to be older by Meyer’s descriptions, especially Aro, I felt was almost transparent in looks, more like a spirit or a old gaunt man with the cracking translucent skin of the aged…
If Alex played it that way I secribed we would hardly recognize him anyway…yet this is my interpretation of Aro…
Now as far as Gerard Butler, my friend, who some of us know as phantomladydy or gypsydy on some ML sites, thinks the world of that man as sexy hot… She is also a devouted fan of Moonlight & did her part in our ML campaign… I just sent your comment about Gerry to her, she will just love that you also are his fan…
BUT it might not matter anyway. If they are looking at Ban Barnes for Aro then that tells me they want to cast young “teenish” looking vamps to attract the teen audience. Alex is a woman’s man.
I see the the bad/good vampire thing as being irrelevant but maybe that is because I love the vampire genre so much. I love the BAD vampires just as much as the good ones. Think Dracula 2000 with Gerard Butler…he was a bad vampire and he killed quite a bit and yet I think he is one hottest screen vampires ever. Lestat in Interview with a Vampire AND Queen of the Damned…killer and hot, hot, hot.
I would like to see Mick in a bad guy role and I know actors usually like to play bad guys too.
Yes, Alex’s Mick was a good vampire as are those in the CUllin Clan… However, what is a bohemian vampire? Are you thinking of the nomadic vampires who do not really belong to the stable “vegetarian” clan? If so, then you would be describing James, who wanted to kill Bella and along with Laurent & Victoria killed a couple of humans in Forks…
Can we really picture Alex doing that? If he played a vampire role in the sequels to Twilight he would have to take over Carlise role if Peter F declined finishing out the sequels as he would fit well into that role…
No, no volturi role for Alex. He is a good vampire. The Volturi are evil. He can be considered for another role such as the bohemian vampires, etc.
I agree with MichaelC2B….I could not have said it better!!!! Alex is *AWESOME*!!!!
Thank you, Tiffany, for the link… I have never heard of Ben Barnes, but then had not heard of a few of the young stars in Twilight…
Curiosity, the young man who played Jasper Cullin had the last name of Rathbone…Also was checking out his face to see if I saw a younger version of the late and great portrayer of the original on-screen Sherlock Holmes, whose name was Basil Rathbone… I am wondering if Twilight’s Jasper is the grandson or great grandson of that late actor, Basil Rathbone???
Looks like Summit may have already found their Aro in Ben Barnes:

As for us all, MichaelC2B… Most of all we all have faith in Alex to succeed in whatever he does…
I know this project is taking forever to come forth to us… I just pray that he is given a fairer chance than he had with Moonlight… MichaelC2B, I like your way of thinking on Alex having the pull after this to bring Moonlight back…That would be awesome…
I have faith that Alex’s new show is going to be a hit, and then he will have a much better chance to bring Moonlight back if he wants to in the future. He will be gaining more power in the industry by co-creating, writing, producing and starring. He will also be presenting movie ideas as a part of his new contract. In the meantime, don’t underestimate Alex just because he hasn’t been on screen since May – it has only been 6 months, and I just know that Alex has great things ahead of him in his career. There is no need for him to rush anything right now – he is working and he is staying in touch with his fans through his blogs and his wonderful interviews. The last thing he said in his last interview on 12/5 was that he would be back on screen soon. He sounded so happy, and as always, it was a delight just to hear him talk. Alex is a special man and an extraordinary actor, and there is no place to go but UP for him at this point. I can hardly wait to see Alex accept his first Emmy – which he was robbed of for ML – and he will also be accepting Oscars in the future. Alex is the best and he deserves only the best. Whatever he decides to do, I will be there to enjoy it.
yeah! that would be nice.
Twilight and Moonlight really do have much in common. Moonlight was much more adult, giving us a much more adult and hot vampire. Any chance to see Alex in anything is a great idea as far as I am concerned. He does deserve to be front and center, but a good character role would also be good. Give him a menacing vampire role, and watch the fun begin.
i love alex,to me he should be the lead in whatever he does,i still adore moonlight and love all his movies.
he is fantastic .
I think Alex belongs in a starring role to…BUT since that doesn’t seem to be happening I don’t think it would be a bad idea for him to take a secondary role in a high budget, much anticipated blockbuster like New Moon is sure to be. It would get him out in front of more eyes and perhaps lead to other things. At any rate it would be great to see him vamped up again!
Hi Alex lovers, I would rather see Alex in a staring role and not like August Rush and Invisibile. He is a very good actor and should get main roles that show his talent.I would love to see Alex in the UK but I won’t be going as of right now. If you have the information later about the travel let us know. Thanks.
PS to Note to all:
It may be in all of our best interest to have it definitely confirmed that Alex will appear at this function, so be sure to state that to the administrators of http://www.moonlightforever.com
AND, Also, if we all state we would like a package trip for all fans into which we pay for air.hotel and all events, then they must take notice…
I know this economy is in a big slump, but we have over 6 or 7 months to prepare for this trip to London… Yes travel fares must be paid in advance, but that would give us all perhaps 4 or 5 months to reserve and get funds to do so… And no matter how hard the times may be we still must go on living and once in awhile do something to make ourselves feel better and boost our moral; this trip sounds like just what the doctor ordered…
Hoping Alex keeps his plans to appear and that fans needing to see him in person is above all else of most importance…anything else should be, if true to those that admire him & he seems like this type of man, put on hold…
I am hoping to go…GOd willing and the creek doesn’t rise…
A Note to All,
There is going to be a MoonlightCon held in London, UK during June 12-14, 2009 with a planned appearance by Alex O’Loughlin… Anyone interested in joining in the fun, should make their plans now… For more info check out this site or its administration…
http://www.moonlightforever.com …
BTW, one must become a member to get info from the site, but it is worth it…
It might be a nice gsture to recomment that they construct an excursion of all Moonlight fans with a planned tour scheduled that we can make reservations for… Ask them also to confront the information about Alex plans to appear at this event for certain so we can all enjoy his presence as well as stars of Veronica Mars and Angel during the june 12-14, 2009 time period… I am recommending we ask them to make such a trip available as a package for fans than for us to do so individualy and that they definitely confirm that Alex is committed to this engagment’s appearance no matter what…
Hi MichaelC2B,
I think you & I commented on a couple of the same sites during our Moonlight campaigning days… I was MsMoonlighter or 62Moonlighterette on some, but on many Spiritedangel… Haven’t read your comments here before but welcome & hope to be hearing more from you…
I, also read all 4 of the Twilight saga, and must admit I DO Want to see the movie…However, in s few of the choices of actors to play the character roles I am disappointed for, as with many, this is not how we saw them in our minds eye while reading the novels… Instead of getting, as far as I am concerned, no-names to play the likes of Esme, Carlise, the producers should have given the older audiences a touch of the familiar like Alex playing Carlise… However, Esme struck me as being a tiny, demure, shy woman in the novel, besides being overly mothering; definitely as I see the actress they chose for the part…
I do like their choice of leads in the movie of Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewert for they bring a warmth, as did Alex & Sophia did for Moonlight to the movie… Both are relatively newcomers, though Robert gained some fame as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter films prior to Twilight… And, let’s face it, every actor is entitled to begin their climb to fame at some level… as far as I am concerned the Cullen parents chosen were not ready for that step…
But then Alex O’Loughlin was a newcomer to most of us here in the US, not at all what Nina Tassler claimed as to us being actor-centric, for which I feel she was referring to Alex… Yes, he guested (if one checks the actual credits) on the 6th Season of “The Shield”, but there are many of us that never, I for one, who never saw the show, & only now are ordering the DVD set of that season from Amazon because of Alex’s stint in the show…I have it and find the show, itself, much too violent and very exaggerated in that sense… However, Alex was a newcomer to the states and to viewers as far as most of us viewers, who became fans, were concerned so in no way could we or should we have been misconstrued as being “actor-centric”, which is an excuse for Nina’s stupid move of cancelling the show but she will not admit to being wrong in doing; meaning her far-fetched accustaion and for cancelling Moonlight…
yes I would love to see him on new moon.
My image of Alex is not that of a blood thirsty evil vampire, which I felt, after reading all of the Twilight saga, that the Volturi were…Somewhere along the way over the centuries they lost the good in the power they held…
Alex is a magnificent actor, would like to see him in more movies, especially those ear-marked for success…And Aro was old, how could we liken our fav vampire to such an ancient one… I want only better parts for Alex, and not supporting parts, but leading roles…
However, if the man who is currently playing Carlise, the Cullen Clan’s father image, declines to make any sequels of Twilight I can definitely see Alex in THAT role…Actually it would be perfect…
I must say I was rather dissappointed in their choice of who played Esme… Nothing about this actress, who was Rebecca on Grey’s Anatomy, rings of her being motherly as was the persona of Esme in the novels…
Please excuse the typo in the last line – it should say “…and he does IT better…”
I think that Alex should only have leading roles like he did in Australia before he came here to basically start over. Anyone who has seen FEED, Oyster Farmer and Mary Bryant knows that he is just too talented and too charismatic for such a small part as part of the Volturi in Twilight. Moonlight was so far superior to Twilight (I read all 4 of the books, and have no desire to see the movie) – I have been a fan of vampire stories all of my life, but now I have seen the best, and the best is Mick St.John. I am still hoping for his return – until then I want to see Alex shine like he can in the LEAD, whether it is a new TV show or movies. Alex can do ANYTHING, and he does is better than any actor I have ever seen.
