Another great episode IMO. I liked the story and the acting was excellent. Many times I forgot I was watching Alex and thought instead about how I was watching a doctor.
In this episode we see the return of Dr. Andy’s creepy Uncle Mike. He comes to Andy’s office with a stab wound and initially it appears that he wants Andy to patch him up without reporting it to the authorities which is against the law. Andy is saved from this sticky scenario by the arrival of his wife Rena, who is a cop. She knew of the stabbing and figured Uncle Mike would go to Andy for help.
In the meantime two firefighters and a fire victim arrive at Three Rivers. The fire captain needs new lungs if he is to survive but Dr. Andy cannot get him listed with UNOS because of his injuries. He asks the man’s team of firefighters if they will submit to tests to see if they are a match and can donate a portion of their lungs to the captain. 4 of the firefighters are found to be matches. A female firefighter named Gwen is put in a tough position when she comes back as a match. She does not want to donate part of her organ to the man that allowed her would be rapist and fellow firefighter to get away with his crime. She is swayed though to donate to protect her injured co-worker from having to make that sacrifice.
A young man who was burned in the fire presents several health problems that mystify them but eventually they figure out that an underlying auto immune disorder is at work.
Dr. Andy and Dr. Reed agree to a drink date later on so they can talk about what happened between them. Rena interrupts them though with the news that Uncle Mike killed a man and that the police want Andy’s assistance to put him away or they will put a hold on the money Uncle Mike donated to Kuol. Andy is conflicted about what to do and he is conflicted further as Rena takes his hand and tells him to go and enjoy his date. The look he gives Rena when she takes  makes it all to obvious that he still loves his wife. Alas the love triangle is getting interesting and we have few episodes in the series left. :0(
hi i will miss three rivers i watched all the shows i now alex will be back on tv soon cant wait
As I check every day and haven’t seen any e-mails from you, I got worried on a personal level, not just cause there was nothing pressing going on with Alex; but hoping your OK. Well, thank God I just thought to look at the last correspondence, and all the girls comments. Glad your just busy, I hope you get a vacation soon. Thanks for all your updates. I already ordered my Back-up Plan DVD (coming on Alex’s birthday) and also Three Rivers even before it’s made. Have a great weekend coming up. Patty
TIFFANY: ARE YOU NO LONGER CONNECTED WITH THIS SITE? WE HAVEN’T HEARD FROM YOU IN ALMOST A MONTH. PLEASE LET US KNOW. WE ARE CONCERNED.
Suzanne, still here… just nothing really new to report and very busy with other stuff.
Tiffany, hope all is well – we’re worried about you because we haven’t heard from you in awhile. We know you’re busy but just drop a line to let us know you’re OK.
Tiffany, we all miss you. You better not be with our Alex on a deserted
mountain somewhere in Hawaii. I am so FREAKIN jeolous if you are.
Please we all love to hear from you soon.
LOL! I wish that were the case. Thanks all for the inquiries. I am doing well, just super busy, professionally and personally.
I LOOKED ON LINE TO FIND OUT THE ADDRESS OF ALEX’S NEW AGENCY:
AGENT: CHRIS HART
UNITED TALENT AGENCY
9560 WILSHIRE BLVD. SUITE 500
BEVERLY HILLS CA 90212
Hopefully we can send cards for his birthday c/o of them.
Okay Tiffany???? Where the heck are you??
Hi Tiffany–hope all is well with you. We haven’t heard from you in awhile.
Hi, Tiffany! Thanks for all the weekly coverages on Alex. Can’t wait to see H50 in September.
Three Rivers is now playing on cable network here in Manila. Do hope all’s well with you.
In my eyes I already knew Alex was #1. Look at him….come on and smell the
coffee. I just can’t wait to see the last episode of TR tonight and for the fall for Hawaii 5-0. Us die hard fans just have to turn away when we hear negative
stuff from the critics. They just don’t get Alex as we do.
Tiffany – hope all is well, we miss you!
The last address I saw on a site for Alex was:
c/o Andrew J Freedman Personal Management
20 Ironsides St. Suite 18
Marina Del Ray, CA 90292
Hopefully, this is still good, The photo I sent him was sent to that address months ago and I think he’s changed agents since. They might forward. Good Luck
Suzanne His Forever Fan
Where can we write to Alex or send him a photo to sign? Thanks so much.
OMG!!! I just got in the mail a photo of Alex I sent him MONTHS ago…a really handsome one….and he sent it back AUTOGRAPHED in the stamped addressed envelope I sent along with it!!! Seeing “all my love….To Suzanne, Alex” MADE my day, my WEEK, my MONTH! I’m so glad he still tries to do things like that Love him Love him. Suzanne his Forever Fan
TIFFANY, WHERE ARE YOU?????
Yea, Alex is #1 but us die hard fans already knew that. So sad that TR’s last episode is this week. I just have to wait to see him in the fall to see him in Hawaii 50.
I, too, just saw Alex made the number 1 hunk and I did vote. I knew I had good taste (ha-ha). Congrats Alex. Can’t wait till this fall for 5-0. It looks awesome and I don’t care or listen much to what the critics say even though I am no expert. Good luck on 5-0 and take care Alex. Your fan, Laura.
I just found out that Alex was voted #1 hunk of the year. Hooray for him. Well deserved. As far as the critics are concerned, I stopped listening to them a long time ago. If I believed everything that they said I would never see another movie or watch a TV show. I think H5O is going to be a huge success. The whole cast is great. They have great chemistry and the writing is extraordinary. Alex is getting more well known everyday. This is his time. You go Alex!!
WHERE ARE YOU TIFFANY???? MISS YOU….HAVEN’T HEARD FROM YOU FOR DAYS!!! AND WHAT ABOUT AN ADDRESS FOR ALEX FOR BIRTHDAY CARDS?? THANKS, SUZANNE””
Well next week’s episode of “Three Rivers” is the finale. Too many loose ends to wrap up in one episode. Makes you wonder what could have been. As far as bad vibes about H5-0, there are people out there who couldn’t find something positive to say about it if they had to. As far as Alex being ” the Golden Boy for CBS” – let’s hope he is, this way CBS will promote the hell out of H5-0, something they failed to do with regards to “Moonlight” and “Three Rivers”. I see a lot of promos for H5-0 during different times of the day so they are making the effort this time but it will still be up to the fans to make it a success. Remember, critics get paid to trash programs, actors, etc. so it will be the voice of the fans that will speak volumes, not the critics. When the time comes, let our voices be heard by tuning in and making H5-0 a ratings winner.
Love that Mick. I voted once it won”t let you vote more than once.
Mick St. John is #7 now. I can’t vote any more, Hopefully some others will do so.
Mick is up to a tie for 4th place as of tonight. GO MICK!!!
Sandra: accept my apologies…..I get a little “over the top” about him. Someone should do a study on just why a man like him has so much charisma that we ladies all go gaga. …a psychologist would go wild on that one. I’m sure great actors like Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Tom Cruise, etc. all had their detractors…..the old “you can’t please everyone” and you shouldn’t even try. Tiffany, is it possible for you to give us alex’s business address (new talent agent???) so we could send our boy a birthday card especially this year when he’s really climbing to the top.?? Please::???? Love from Suzanne Alex’s Forever Fan
This was a great episode. Andy’s shady Uncle has really created problems for him regarding the donation. Too bad there are only two episodes remaining. Hopefully,
Kuol will get his new heart. Alex was wonderful !!!
Suzanne.I am not saying I think that way. I also have never heard of Scott Caan. Just saying away from Alex sites, there are people who put Alex down. Golden Boy of CBS, wooden acting, and Scott Caan the real star.
I am not saying that myself, just repeating what less Alex orientated sites say. Similar was said about Alex’s Stan and Andy characters. Me I love Mick, Marcus, Michael, Russell, Will, Luke, Vincent, Stan, Andy and perhaps a few names Alex as portrayed, also have them all to watch.
Hey, Karen, in your comment about Mick and Beth “having babies” if you will remember (and I have almost all 16 Moonlight shows memorized) Josef was tellling Mick “you know vampires can’t procreate” and Beth heard them and Mick said was that a deal breaker…remember? Anyway, Mick as a stay at home Dad with a Mommy and Kiddy….ahhhhh, no way. Love him but he’s much more mysterious and sexy single and gorgeous…!! And Sandra…oh yea of little faith ….Scott Caan’s acting better than Alex?? Are you kidding? Havent’ seen Scott in anything till this show! Not that I’m taking away from him, but he and Alex are worlds apart in the acting department…. Whoever made that comment does not watch Alex!!! Love from his Forever Fan Suzanne
Who said anything about a stay at home dad and taking care of babies? – an imprecise interpretation. I just love the scene in Mick’s car with Beth saying “we haven’t even slept with each other yet – you may not be any good.” Mick’s expression was priceless. I was referring to the fun they would have “trying to have a baby” knowing vamps can’t. But I also remember Josef regretting never having kids and a part of Mick hoping he had “a family”. And let’s not rule out the possibility that Mick could possibly become human again…. if we had gotten a Season 2. I also would have loved it if Beth had invited Mick to dinner (not lunch) and a “MOONLIGHT” walk on the beach…. for me, the beach would have been the perfect spot for Mick to tell Beth he was in love with her.
Suzanne, I think you need to read the comments a little better. You are attacking people for things they never even said. Sandra for instance only related that she heard OTHER people say Scott was the star and frankly Scott was brilliant in the clips we have seen thus far and he is already an established movie star with a famous actor Dad so he has paid his dues and deserves any props he gets. Scott Caan is a FABULOUS actor, every bit as good as Alex and I have been a fan of Scott for years just as I have been of Alex. No need to go bashing anyone because they like the guy. Remember that Scott has his own fans and following that will contribute to H50 being a success as well… no need to alienate them.
Liked the episode as well. Has anyone voted for Alex O’Loughlin All Time Hunk yet? Jim Halterman is running an opinion poll and Alex was winning for a while until Matt Bomer fans got involved. Please vote for Alex here: http://jimhalterman.com/news/cast-your-vote-top-10-prime-time-tv-hunks-of-all-time/
We can also vote for best vampire on cliqueclack.com. Mick is currently tied for 4th place–down from 3rd. Come on everybody–vote for Mick!!
OH NO!! Mick has dropped to 5th place!!! Get out there and vote for Mick!
You know, I drove to Pittsburgh and to Brownsville Hospital during the filming of Three Rivers. That’s the closest I’ve been to Alex – a few parking spots away. But you know, it was fun just driving from Ohio to possibly be an “extra” or catch a glimpse of Alex and just being in the same city as him was cool. Knowing that he’s read my emails I’ve sent is cool. Having a tee-shirt from the blood drive is cool. Being a donor is cool. I loved Alex as Mick St. John. I loved everything about him. I loved him as Dr. Andy and I’ll love him as Steve. He’s one of a kind. He’s the bomb. He came all the way from Australia so we could fall in love with him (oh yeah, and he wanted to be an actor and that he is!). That’s so cool. But when I watch episodes from MOONLIGHT, I see things that could have been better. I’m sorry, but if I was in New York with Mick, I’d say forget Josh, I’m going out on the town with Mick! I’m in no hurry to head back to L.A. The episode where Beth takes “the vampires are the new high” drug. Come on, let her kiss you already Mick! I think I read somewhere that Alex said if Moonlight was on cable TV, there would have been a little more sexy-ness going on. I see “Mick & Beth” together a lot more during his short time as a human. Hey, this was Beth’s chance to have Mick’s baby! I see him going to her and telling her he’s in love with her before the last episode. I see times when a “dream” episode would have been cool where they’re both human and both loving each other. You know the episode where Mick’s human and he invites Beth over “for dinner tonight”. Well, before you know it, it’s the next day, they are at the vampire/doctor’s office, he’s turned back into a vampire and what happened to dinner that night? If I’m wrong about this, please call me on it. So, I know this has nothing to do with Alex’s new agency or Hawaii Five-O but hey, I just had to get this stuff off my chest and share it with fellow Alex lovers. Okay, okay so I’m still hung up on MOONLIGHT and I used “cool” way too much. But there’s one thing I know for sure, WE ALL LOVE ALEX!
I really enjoyed this one. Can’t wait to see what Dr. Andy does about his Uncle. I think he should rat him out and send him back to prison. He seemed to make it clear in an eariler episode that he did not care for his Uncle and did not want to be around him. Hope in the next two episodes we find out how it turns out between Dr. Andy and Dr. Reed. I also think CBS should of given 3R more time. Looking forward to H5-O. Love ya Alex, you roc.
And one big bonus no one died this week to give the recipitent the donation, I wondered what had happened to Kuol’s heart.
By the sounds of it, which Andy hinted he was a bad boy in the past, helping his uncle break into places. Now his past is catching up with him with his uncles problems. Problems that may effect Kuol’s heart transplant. Mixed up feelings about Rena and Dr Reed for Andy. I have liked all the eps. There are only two left to watch, hope all will be resolved, but when they were made and written they didn’t realise there wouldn’t be another season. All questions might not be answered.
I hope H50 is a big success. I hear there is some bad vibes though. Comments about Alex’s acting, and Scott Caan being the real lead man. Also about them changing Kono into a female. Oh, well we will have to see how it all goes. They spent a tone of money making the pilot, and need to have big audiences to re-coup. But apparently the budget for each show after the pilot is not half so much. Time will tell. I imagine they will start shooting it soon.
I understand what you are saying – what’s out there about Alex is totally out of our control. Thanks for delivering the info to us and no need to defend yourself. I know you love Alex and believe in his acting abilities or you wouldn’t be here. It seems like our comments are being misunderstood. Lighten up out there!
Now this was an episode I could get into. More realistic interaction especially with the firefighters. There’s a lot to consider when donation is from a living donor. Alex played his part perfectly. By the way there’s a really bad video on Twitter of Alex receiving his Donate Life award. Maybe a better one will surface. Can barely hear what he’s saying.
This episode was well scripted and riveting. I can’t wait to see in the episodes that do follow are the same.
I, too liked this one. Alex is so believable no matter the role – vampire, doctor, cop. Too bad CBS just didn’t give TR a little more time but then we wouldn’t have 5-0 coming up which I think looks even better. And how bad can it be being in Hawaii. I was there once years ago and did not want to come back to Wisconsin. My friends had to practically drag me to our departing plane kicking and screaming. Good luck on this one Alex. You deserve it.
I liked this one a lot – and as Tiffany said, you thought you were watching Alex the doctor instead of Alex the actor. Question Tiffany, is the actor who plays “Uncle Mike” the same one that will be playing Alex’s father in H5-0- it sure looks like the same guy. I think TR could have really been a hit if CBS had taken time to listen to fans and promote it but it is what it is or should I say it was what it was. I think CBS finally got the message this time because the promos for H5-0 are on constantly. Let’s hope so for Alex’s sake. He deserves a hit.
Same guy JoJo. 🙂
ANOTHER THING I FORGOT TO COMMENT ON….WHITEOUT WAS A MOVIE THAT HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN IT FOR ALEX…HE WAS THE ONE BRIGHT SPOT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN DIRECTLY TO DVD…HE DOESN’T NEED THAT, A VERY BAD MOVIE, BUT AT LEAST IT GAVE HIM MORE NOTICE TO “THOSE WHO COUNT”. LOVE YOU ALEX
YES, ITS TOO BAD WE DIDN’T GET TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER SEASON FOR 3 RIVERS BUT HAWAII 5 0 WILL PUT OUR BOY OVER THE TOP. 3 RIVERS WAS NOT A DRA,MA THAT REALLY SHOWED ALEX’S ABILITIES…TOO MUCH GOING ON AND NOT ENOUGH HIM…OF COURSE ALL US FANS FEEL THAT WAY, BUT MOONLIGHT SO FAR HAS BEEN THE BEST AT BRINGING OUT THE “BEST” IN OUR ALEX. EVERYONE SEEMS TO WANT THE “SHOOT EM UP ” TYPE DRAMAS, MOVIES AND TV, SO IN ORDER TO GET HIM SEEN AND APPRECIATED (ESPECIALLY BY MEN, FOR A CHANGE!!) WE HAVE TO SEE HIM IN A GREAT REMAKE OF A GREAT DRAMA….YOU GO ALEX ….WHATEVER YOU DO, WE ARE WITH YOU. SUZANNE YOUR FOREVER FAN
I absolutely also got lost in this episode…it was riveting and as Tiffany said Andy was so a doctor and kept us on the edge of our seats all through…What a shame only two epi’s to go ..I do hope CBS will air ALL the TR series over the summer. Another treat today was seeing the airing of Whiteout on Cinemax twice. Once this morning and again tonite at 8:25 pm EDT.
