Alex O’Loughlin Weekly FanArt Wednesday

Another Alex O’Loughlin fanart day is here and the wall is full with lots of great works of fanart. It is Easter weekend so there is some spring and Easter related ones as well as the usual unique thought provoking ones. Let’s get started with the virtual walk through the gallery.

Starting with a thought provoking one from Gaby.  What we get from this is from the look on both Steve and Mick’s faces, ether character is pleased with who the other one is or was. There are many dimensions of this art piece as both characters can be in the past and future based on Mick’s ability of living forever as a vampire. Steve could be looking at Mick in the past or the future and Mick could be doing the same thing. What becomes of Mick or Steve that one of them would say “I don’t know you anymore,” is a mystery for anyone that wants to take that on. Very interesting and thought provoking for deep thinkers…and then again for everyone the piece is also fun to look at.

Next we have a lively Spring piece from Monika. With Alex’s bright smile and some pastel and flower background, it brings the feeling of Spring in the air all around. With the few hearts surrounding his head she adds to that and depicts the love and joy he brings as per the writing on the pic. It is a nice addition for this time of year.

Next there is another one for Spring and Easter and this one is from Sonja. Surrounded by a lot of pink flowers and blossoms Alex is ready for Easter.  Easter always brings out such vibrant colors and she even exemplified the light of the Easter event towards the back of the forest. This interpretation can go deeper too or you can take it for just a light fun pic of Alex -up to you.

Also from Sonja, here is Alex with his dog Dusty. Since yesterday was National Pet Day, it seems to fit in well with that theme. In this piece, they seem to be heading into a beach day and since he is now on hiatus, it’s time to get some quality time with his best friend. Looks like no one else is on the beach so they have a lot of room to run and play, too.  She also adds to the piece making it look just like a photograph. Maybe a fan caught them after all.

Bryna provided a thought provoking one, too. Looks to be Steve is at the HQ table wondering why he is asleep on the job and whose dog that is. He is not sure if he is dreaming or awake but either way he is concerned. It is not like him to sleep like that and it exhumes his anti-self in every way. Is it time to wake up or did he get caught up in another fan fic…time will tell.

We created an adapted sketch that depicts a lot of detail. Since it is hiatus time it is likely hiatus beard time so taking a well know photo shoot and adapting it in some simple but also complex ways, this one exemplifies a hiatus work-out. How ironic is that.

We pulled from our gallery backup for Silvia’s piece this week and chose one following the same lines of the hiatus theme.  It seems as if the beach is a great place to start things off. With such a tranquil setting he is ready to take the plunge and start his relaxing vacation.

That’s it for another week of the virtual art exhibit. This was a good week for interpretation showing art can be looked at in so many different ways. If you do not like what we came up with, use your imagination to fill in the blanks. Hope you enjoyed it and are looking forward to some more next week. Until then…

  1. The one from Bryna is not Steve but Chin with Jack from Oyster Farmer

    1. Yes quite aware of that as it is conceptual. You can also ask Bryna what her intention was and you might be surprised. We know all of Alex’s characters quite well as this site has been around since 2007. The purpose of the art post is to be imaginative. Thanks for your comment.

      1. You’re welcome 🙂

    2. Hi Jill, yes, I told AOLO that this is McGarrett looking at “McGarrett” sleeping…it’s not literal…just my interpretation of the pics I put together, therefore making it “whimsical art”…I hope that clarifies it for you. Thanks!
